Bikes & Breakfast Poolesville "The British are coming, the British are coming"!
Yes, those were the cries of fellow bikers and innocent onlookers as denizens of the British motorcycling empire landed on the front row at Bikes and Breakfast - Poolesville on Sunday. The land of warm beer, questionable dentistry, and adherents to Lucas (The Prince of Darkness) showed up in full force with their Triumphs (dozens!), Nortons, and Royal Enfields on a mostly-overcast day (of course!) to make the day a huge success! As always, it was great to see everyone else as well--especially my fellow Buellies! The next Bikes & Breakfast Poolesville will be held on Sunday (8/18) and will feature a chance to hang out with two amazing local authors (and bikers)---our good friends, the internationally-known Nigel Sainsbury ("One Down, Four Up") and Pilot-Extraordinaire Chris McCalla ("If My Log Books Could Talk). It will be time to stock up on your winter reading!
Finally, our next "themed" bike day will be Sunday (9/1) when we celebrate the motorcycles of German/Austrian descent. Bring out your BMWs, KTMs, and Husqvarnas (and we'll even salute those with a Rotax-designed engine, and you know who you are!).
